Two Moors Way Holiday Cottages are situated in the heart of Mid Devon and are located one mile from Witheridge. Witheridge itself has a great pub, a couple of shops, restaurant and café; perfect for taking a stroll around. It’s also less than a few minutes to our local farm shop and all major supermarkets deliver here.

The area has a number of places of interest, lovely restaurants and independent shops. In the heart of Mid Devon the accommodation is centrally situated with easy access to the gorgeous sandy beaches of wither North or South Devon, Exmoor National Park and the Cathedral City of Exeter is a short journey away with easy access to the M5 motorway.

Places to visit

There’s several fantastic National Trust properties not too far from us including Killerton and Knightshayes and a little further afield Castle Drogo and Greenway.

For animal fans there is Exmoor Zoo, The Donkey Sanctuary and Dartmoor Zoo, along with the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth. Other places to visit include:

Exmoor National Park – this park extends over 265 square miles of coastal land, hills, moors and woods, which provide excellent hiking opportunities across wild landscape and among the stone circles and ruins of ancient inhabitants.

Tiverton Canal Company – Boat hire and horse-drawn canal boat trips based in the Grand Western Canal Country park. A traditional horse-drawn barge, as it glides peacefully through the scenic Devon countryside, adorned by nature and wildlife.

Quince Honey Farm – South Molton – fun for all the family at this bee farm and family attraction with shop, restaurant and soft play area.

Rock & Rapid Adventure – South Molton – the largest and best-equipped indoor climbing wall in Devon, suitable for all abilities. Taster sessions and lessons with all kit provided. Great fun, whatever the weather!

Tiverton Museum – a museum of social, agricultural, transport and local history.

Tiverton Castle – something for everyone: learn about the Castle’s history, ghosts and secret passages. You can try on some Civil War armour; climb the tower steps and take a stroll around the beautiful gardens.

Dartmoor National Park – a beautiful moorland landscape with wooded valleys and windswept tors covering 368 square miles. The public is able to roam freely on unenclosed, open moorland on both foot and horseback. There are also about 600 miles of public rights of way. Dartmoor is a rich habitat for wildlife and has a wealth of archaeological remains.

Devon Railway Centre – This attraction has train themed fun for all the family including model railway and village, mini train rides and a soft play area.

Rosemoor Gardens – Great Torrington – this Royal Horticultural Society garden is acclaimed by gardeners throughout the world, but you don’t have to be a keen gardener to appreciate its beauty and diversity. Whatever the season, the garden is a unique and enchanting place that people return to time and time again.

Surf South West Surf School – Saunton Sands and Croyde Bay – renowned surfing beaches, for absolute beginners to seasoned surfers.

The BIG Sheep – Nr. Bideford – North Devon’s premier all weather attraction.

Crealy Theme Park and Resort – Near. Exeter – experience the legendary magic and adventure of Crealy, the biggest family theme park in Devon.

Diggerland – Digger themed fun for children and adults. (30 minutes drive, near Cullompton)

The City of Exeter – There’s something for everyone in Exeter from the historical Cathedral, the family friendly museum (RAMM) to the fascinating Medieval Underground Passages. There’s some great shopping, particularly in the quirky West Quarter and a great choice of places to eat.

For the outdoor adventurers

For those of you looking for outdoor fun and adventure, there are multiple local locations that will offer a bit of thrill.

Bellbrook Trout Fishery – located just 15 minutes away, Bellbrook is a great fly-fishing and trout fishery.

Devon Country Pursuits – visit them in Exeter Clay shooting, laser tag, Segways, archery and many more activities.

Go Ape! – Nr. Exeter – are you wild enough to climb 30ft up a rope ladder, Tarzan swing into a giant rope net then zip wire through trees, crawl through tunnels and tackle high wire rope bridges? If the answer’s yes, then you’re ready to Go Ape!

Go Segway – Nr. Exeter – Devon’s first and favourite Segway® tour based at Haldon Forest Park.

Haldon Forest Park – Nr. Exeter – whether you explore the forest on foot, by bike, or swinging through the canopy, you’ll find something for you just around the next tree! Refreshments, cycle hire and Go Ape Tree Top Adventure.

Shalden Shooting School – Nr. Tiverton – a clay pigeon shooting school with professional instructors. No experience necessary. All ages and abilities catered for and all equipment provided.

Stargazing – Exmoor National Park, International Dark Sky Reserve – home to some of the darkest skies in the country and a great place to gaze at the stars.

Quad World – Cullompton – where all the family can join in the fastest growing fun sport in the UK.

Saddles & Paddles Bike Hire – Located on the quay in Exeter. Hire bikes or kayaks to explore the Exeter Quay and Canal area.

The Bear Trail – An award winning properly muddy adventure course for all the family (30 minutes drive, near Cullompton).
